The Hierophant encourages you to become your own guardian of inner wisdom.
It reminds you that your values, beliefs, thoughts, opinions, and feelings can, and should, be expressed without fear. No other person can determine what is best for you, unless you empower them with context and insight to you own standing. If you choose to do so, is your prerogative.
When you are brutally honest with yourself – letting go of any prejudice, pride and fears – you will always recognise the truth. About yourself and the world you live in.
Once comfortable with who you really are (in terms of bright and dark sides of self) and where you stand at this moment in life, you may delve deeper into your own spirituality and feel inspired to share your knowledge with others.
A word of caution: Beware not impose your teachings onto others, as intended advice and guidance can quickly be misunderstood or can, if insisted upon, turn into dogmatism and rigidity of spirit. Inteligent people never share advice, when no advice is sought.

Reversed meaning
Rejection of Tradition: You might be feeling an urge to resist the established norms and conventional beliefs, which will lead to a sense of disconnection from your local community, work space, circle of friends or even own family. Try communicating your own standpoints, however different they may be. Remember, people who care for you will listen, even if they might not agree.
Dogmatism: You might not be aware, that you’re becoming very rigid in your beliefs, possibly unreasonably sticking to outdated or inflexible ideas. Try stepping out of your box and taking an objective look at your own believes, even just as a private mental exercise. If you cannot do so, perhaps you are becoming less open minded than you thought.
Lack of Guidance: If you’re feeling unsupported in your spiritual journey, you might feel a need to seek alternative sources of wisdom or mentorship. So, go out and meet new people. The odds are, there is a person or even people near you that have been through exact same thing as your going through right now.
Personal Spirituality: If you’d like to explore your own beliefs and values, rather than blindly following others’ teachings, don’t hesitate to do so. Do not be afraid of taking your own, unique approach to spirituality.
Questioning Authority: This card, turned upside down, urges you to think critically and develop your own understanding of spirituality. Freely challenge traditional authority figures, but make sure to do so with respect and grace.
